Mary J. Robertson age 88 of Pell Lake, WI died Monday morning July 26, 2010 at her home.
The former Mary Jerome Conway was born on September 30, 1921 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada the daughter of the late Francis and Mary Tuohy Conway. On March 25, 1943 at St. Genevieve's Parish in Chicago, IL, she was united in marriage to Allan G. Robertson. In 1950, she was inflicted with Bulbar Polio and was in Cook County Hospital for 1 year. They lived in Chicago until moving to Pell Lake in 1956 into their home her husband built.
Mary was a homemaker involved in her community and a lifetime member of the Bloomfield Center VFW Post #5830 Ladies Auxiliary, the Pell Lake Property Owners Assoc. and served on the Lake Geneva School Board for 15 years. She was a former member of the Star Center Mother's Club and the Altar and Rosary Society at the Former St. Mary's Parish where she was a member. She is a member of St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church in Lake Geneva. She enjoyed writing, taking a creative writing course and has written many poems, loved flowers, all animals and especially her cats. She was a repeat writer for the "Letters to the Editor" in the Regional News with concerns of abuse to animals and legislative issues for our Veteran's.
Mary is survived by: 1 daughter Barbara (David Little) Robertson; 1 son-Andrew F. Robertson of Pell Lake, WI; 3 grandchildren, 3 gr. Grandchildren; 2 brothers-Dr. James (Delores) Conway of Glenview, IL, Edward Conway of Elmhurst, IL; 2 sisters-Barbara Cesaretti of Lombard, IL and Ann Ward of Boca Raton, FL.
She was preceded in death by 1 son-Allan B. Robertson on April 2, 1966; 2 brothers-Francis and Patrick Conway; 1 sister Elizabeth Regan.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00AM Saturday July 31, 2010 at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church in Lake Geneva with Fr. Terry Huebner officiating. Interment will be held at 12:30PM in All Saints Cemetery, 700 N. River Rd. Des Plaines, IL. The Robertson Family will receive friends from 3 to 9PM Friday at the Haase-Derrick-Lockwood Funeral Home 800 Park Dr. Lake Geneva, WI and after 9:00AM Saturday at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church.
