Agnes E. Palenshus age 82 of Elkhorn, WI. Passed Away Tuesday July 27, 2010 at Vintage On The Ponds, in Delavan, WI. She was born in Utica, N.Y. on January 21, 1928 the daughter of the late William and Emily Cloute Charmichael. She grew up in Fort Atkinson, WI. On Oct. 26, 1949 she was united in marriage to Harold "Bud" Palenshus at the Episcopal Church in Fort Atkinson, WI. She has been a resident of Elkhorn for 60 years. She was employed by Lakeland Nursing Home as an LPN. Agnes was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school for many years and was a quilter there. She was a Girl Scout Leader, avid sewer and enjoyed knitting. She loved family gathering, cooking, baking, camping and for the last 26 years she enjoyed the many friends at Nature's Villa where they spent their summers in Heldenville, WI.
She is survived her Husband Harold "Bud", two daughters Katherine(Steve) Wright, Christine(Ed) Scaro, two sons Brian(Sandra Webster) Palenshus, Roger(Denise Metzger) Palenshus, and dear friend of the family Jeannine(Russ) Saari. 13 grandchildren: Scott(Atalie) Wright, Monte(Kim) Thompson, Dustin(Sarah Musselman), Josh(Sara) Thompson, Jerry Thompson, Ashley(Chris Widmayer), Shey(Phil Zwieg) Scaro, Stacey Palenshus, Alexander Scaro, Nathan Palenshus, Casey Palenshus, Madison Palenshus, Logan Scaro. 2 Great Grandchildren: Steven and Jaylyn Palenshus. Brother William(Doris) Carmichael, Richard Carmichael.
She was preceded in death by her son Steven Palenshus, brothers George & Robert Carmichael, 2 sisters Mary Fleming and Jean Fischer. Her family would like to especially Thank Pastor Doug Demlow, the Loving and Caring Staff at Vintage on the Ponds and VNA Hospice.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday August 1, 2010 at 2PM at St. John's Lutheran Church 104 S. Broad St. Elkhorn, WI. The family will receive friends from 12PM until the time of services at the church. Memorial Remembrances may be made in Agnes's name to VNA Hospice of Lake Geneva, WI.
